Come clean.
We’ve all got secrets. We’ve all got a past. There are situations where it’s important to protect yourself and not reveal too much. If you feel the need to keep your guard up, you should trust your instincts. But with trusted individuals, each evaluated on a case by case basis, it can feel pretty good to unburden yourself. Does revealing a secret heighten the trust? I don’t know, but it certainly raises the stakes.
